If you only have the document in physical paper form, you can take a photo or scan it and send it to us via email or through our online platform.

What happens after I have sent the document to be translated?

First, we analyze the document, with the duration depending on its length and format. If the analysis takes longer than one hour, our team will inform you of the estimated time frame for receiving your quotation. Rest assured, all documents are handled with strict confidentiality. If necessary, we convert non-editable formats into editable ones using specialized software before analysis. After this, we determine the word count, price, and deadline, which are then detailed in the quotation. The quotation will be sent to you via email as a system-generated message.

I have sent the files to be translated. How much time it will take until I get the quotation?

To determine the final price and deadline, the documents must be thoroughly reviewed. The time required depends on the quantity and format of the files. For example, analyzing a 1- or 2-page Word document may take less than half an hour, while a 100-page PDF could require one to two days. If the analysis is expected to take longer than one hour, our team will inform you of the estimated timeframe for receiving your quotation.

What is the basis of the price calculation?

In most cases, LinguaMED Translation Agency calculates the price based on the source word count, meaning the final cost depends on the number of words in the original document. In rare cases—such as when the text is handwritten or the translation is based on audio or video files—the price is determined by the target word count. Short official documents are charged at a fixed price per document. Proofreading fees are generally based on the target word count. For services like desktop publishing (DTP), video subtitling, or audio/video transcription, pricing is calculated on an hourly basis.

How long does it take to prepare a translation?

To provide an accurate deadline, we need to review the document itself. The turnaround time depends on several factors, including the length, type, and complexity of the text (e.g., general or medical), the format and quality of the source file, the language pair, the number of target languages, and any additional services such as certification or proofreading. For example, a high school diploma translation typically takes 2–3 working days, but if certification is required, the timeframe extends to 3–4 working days. While it is possible to expedite the process, an additional fee will apply for faster delivery.

I need a translation urgently, what can I do?

If you require a translation with an urgent deadline, we recommend contacting us by phone in addition to your email request. This allows us to prioritize your order and provide you with a quotation as quickly as possible.

Is it possible to manage the whole process online?

Yes. From submitting a request for a quotation to receiving the translated document, the entire process can be managed online—even from abroad. Payments can be made via bank transfer, so there’s no need to visit our office in person.

We would like to have you proofread a text that was translated by another translation agency. Can you handle it?

Yes. In order to give you an accurate quotation, we need the original document and the translation as well.

The document to be translated is confidential. How can you ensure non-disclosure?

Fontosnak tartjuk hangsúlyozni, hogy minden egyes kapott dokumentumot szigorúan a hatályos uniós és hazai jogszabályoknak megfelelően kezelünk. A LinguaMED Fordítóiroda adatkezelésre vonatkozó feltételeit Általános szerződési feltételeink és Adatkezelési irányelveink  tartalmazzák. A maximális titoktartás érdekében azonban rendelkezünk egy külön titoktartási szerződés sablonnal is, amelyet készséggel elküldünk ügyfeleinknek és igény esetén természetesen alá is írjuk. Nyitottak vagyunk arra is, ha esetleg egyedi vállalati titoktartási szerződést szeretnének küldeni, amelyet – előzetes megtekintést követően – készséggel aláírunk. Technikailag sok esetben direkt feltöltő linket küldünk az anyagok feltöltéséhez, így nincs szükség e-mailen küldeni.

I need a certified and true translation. Are you able to provide a translation like this?

A LinguaMED Fordítóiroda a hatályos magyar jogszabályok értelmében kizárólag a cégeljáráshoz szükséges idegen nyelvű dokumentumok (pl. társasági szerződés, cégkivonat, aláírási címpéldány, taggyűlési jegyzőkönyv) magyar nyelvre történő hiteles fordítását jogosult elkészíteni. A fordítóirodánk záradékával ellátott fordításokat pedig a cégbíróság is elfogadja.

A célnyelven kiállított, hitelesített fordításunk, akárcsak a közjegyző által hitelesített dokumentum, minden külföldi országban elfogadott. Hasonlóképpen, Magyarországon is számos hatóság fogadja el ezeket, de mielőtt megrendelné, javasoljuk, hogy érdeklődjön az ilyen fordítás elfogadhatóságáról, illetve arról, hogy hiteles OFFI fordításra van-e szükség.
FIGYELEM! Ha hivatalos fordítást szeretne használni hivatalos közigazgatási célokra Magyarországon, először kérdezze meg a befogadó felet, ügyintézőt, hogy elfogadják-e hivatalos fordításunkat, vagy OFFI hiteles fordításra van szükségük.

Would you handle a test translation?

When do you recommend to request for proofreading?

Whether proofreading is required depends on the intended use of the document. For official translations, proofreading is essential to ensure equivalence between the source and target texts, so the price of an official translation always includes proofreading. We also highly recommend proofreading for any text intended for public use or mass printing—such as marketing materials, user guides, catalogs, or books. Proofreading is equally important for webpages, as they are publicly accessible content. Additionally, it can be beneficial for presentations, since the translated material will be viewed and read by a large audience.

My company is looking for a long-term partner for translation. What are your conditions of a cooperation like this?

First of all, we appreciate your inquiry! We are happy to provide a short test translation so you can evaluate whether our quality and style meet your expectations. Just like you would take a new car for a test drive before buying it, the same applies to language services. If you are satisfied, we proceed by entering into a framework service contract with you as our future partner. We have a standard contract for such cases, but we are also open to reviewing and accepting your own written contract. The terms and conditions will be established collaboratively, taking into account the needs and interests of both parties. Once both sides agree, the contract is signed. Our contracted partners benefit from unique pricing established in the framework service agreement. Additionally, the ordering process becomes much simpler: clients with a signed contract no longer need to request quotes or complete signed order forms. It is sufficient to send us an email expressing the order intention along with the documents to be translated. After processing and analyzing the texts, our team confirms the exact price and deadline in a reply email, and the translation begins immediately. Moreover, instead of the usual payment term of 8 days, our contracted partners enjoy a 30-day payment deadline from the date of invoice receipt.

How can I order the translation?

Az árajánlatot egy automatizált rendszerüzenetben küldjük el Önnek e-mailen. Ha úgy dönt, hogy elfogadja árajánlatunkat és szeretné megrendelni a fordítást, egyszerűen igazolja vissza az ajánlatot e-mailen. A megrendelés beérkezését munkatársaink e-mailben visszaigazolják és tájékoztatják a fordítás elkészülésének dátumáról is, majd pedig elindítjuk a fordítást. Amennyiben magánszemélyként adja le megrendelését, munkatársaink a visszaigazolást követően e-mailben elküldik a fordítás díjáról kiállított számlát, amely tartalmazza az átutaláshoz szükséges adatokat (bankszámlaszám, utalandó összeg, fizetési határidő). Magánszemélyes megrendelés esetén az elkészített fordítást az átutalás beérkezését követően tudjuk csak elküldeni.

RECEIVING THE TRANSLATION

How will I receive the translation?

Amennyiben a megrendelés szakfordításra vonatkozott, az elkészített fordítást elektronikus formában, e-mailben szállítjuk. Igény esetén természetesen postai úton is el tudjuk küldeni a kinyomtatott fordítást, ennek részletes feltételeiről érdeklődjön munkatársainknál. Ha hivatalos fordítást rendelt, akkor az eredeti, kinyomtatott dokumentumot postán küldjük el (elsőbbségi, ajánlott küldeményként) vagy igény szerint dunaharaszti irodánkban személyesen átvehető. Igény esetén be is szkenneljük a hivatalos fordítást, melyet PDF fájl formájában, e-mailben küldünk el.

In which format will I receive the translation?

If we receive the source document in an editable format, we always deliver the translated file in the same format. However, if the source document is non-editable (e.g., a JPG or PDF), the translated text is typically provided in Word format. Upon request, we can deliver the translation in another editable format, such as a PowerPoint presentation. Please feel free to ask our colleagues for advice regarding available options.

PRICE AND DISCOUNTS

Does the final price include proofreading?

If you order translation services only, the final price covers translation and quality assurance but does not include proofreading. Our quality assurance process involves software-assisted checks as well as a final review for spelling errors by our team.

How much does the translation cost?

We determine the price individually for each case. The cost depends on various factors, such as the length of the text, language pair, deadline, field of expertise, file format, number of repetitions in the text, and any additional services required (e.g., proofreading, official translation). You can learn everything about our translation fees in our blog post. The most important step is to send us the full text to be translated. Only then can we provide an accurate final price. Without the full document, we can offer only rough price estimates via phone or email. In such cases, we need as much detailed information as possible to give you a price estimate that closely reflects the final cost. What does the final price given in the quotation include?

Typically, the quotation for a professional translation covers the following: initial processing, editing, and preparation of the document; professional translation; use of CAT tools; manual and CAT-assisted quality assurance; post-editing; spell-checking; and finalization of the target document.

 

For official translations, the quotation includes: professional translation; independent proofreading; preparation of a printed and certified copy of the document; scanning and emailing the certified document; and delivery charges if you request postal shipment.

Do I pay extra charge in case of urgent translation?

Yes. LinguaMED Translation Agency counts extra charge for urgent translations. The quotation will include this.

I would like to order a translation from abroad, and I would like to ask for post delivery to an address outside Hungary. Do I pay any extra cost?

In case of post delivery for an address out of Hungary, we apply a unique price. For more information, please contact our colleagues. The given quotation does not include the cost of delivery.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

How can I pay?

If the client is a company, we issue the invoice on the day the work is completed, with a payment deadline of 8 days. For individual clients, we send a proforma invoice on the day the order is placed, and translation work begins only after payment is received.

Can I pay with credit card?

Igen, irodánkban. Kérjük, vegye figyelembe, hogy az ÁFÁ-val növelt bruttó árat kell bankkártyával kifizetnie.
